Symptoms of Candidiasis

If your baby is experiencing diaper rashes and redness of skin, it can be one of the candida symptoms. Apart from babies, genital candidiasis can affect men and women in their adult age. Women may get white and thick vaginal discharge as sign of candidiasis. It also causes irritation and itching in the vaginl area as well as its surrounding tissues. Burning sensation or pain during sexual intercourse can also be an indication of candidiases. Men generally get rashes and redness of penis skin as a sign of genital candidiasis.

Oral candidiasis, which is also known as thrush appear as thick and white patches on anywhere inside mouth, especially in tongue. It also appears as milk curds inside mouth and it might be difficult to eat. Trying to remove the yeast infection from tongue with any sharp object may deteriorate the situation. So, it is better to get proper candidiasis treatment in the preliminary stage. Someone with weaker immunity power may get the infection in internal organs too.

Treatment of Candidiasis

  • Over-the-counter pills and ointments are available for candidiasis treatment in adult women. Follow the appropriate dosage instruction and the condition will be healed in a week. Ointments are often recommended for applying on the affected area and using them, speeds up the process. Though over-the-counter pills are safe, pregnant women should not use any medication without consulting doctors. Over-the-counter pills are also available for treating genital Candidiasis in men.
  • Women who breastfeed their babies may get Candidiasis in their breasts, which in turn can affect the babies. Therefore, it is always recommended to keep the area dry and maintain proper hygiene of mother and baby.
  • Candidiasis in mouth is also a cause of inappropriate hygiene. Wash your mouth after every meal and do not allow any food to get stuck in between teeth or gums. Medication is also available for oral Candidiasis and adults can get it to treat the cause. However, oral candidiasis in babies should be treated only after consulting a pediatrician. Genital Candidiasis in babies can be controlled by changing diaper at regular intervals.

If Candidiasis is not cured by using over-the-counter pills and ointments, it will be ideal to consult a doctor and get the cause diagnosed properly. In some cases, Candidiasis leads to other skin infections, which can make a severe impact.
