Dos and Don’ts after 60

Even if you are sixty years old, life has its beauty. In order to feel all the advantages of this age without being affected too much by its downsides, you need to keep some things in mind.

Do: walk at least half an hour every day and admire nature. Choose a park or a nearby forest to inhale fresh air and feel the freedom of nature. If you like, you can also hug some trees, as it is said that this gesture gives you a part of the energy the trees have.

Don’t: go to the gym and then try to compete with the fit of the participants. If they lose a muscle, they can regenerate faster. Also, don’t overdue the cardiovascular exercises, especially without proper training.

health care old manDo: read a lot and try to use your mind to learn something new every day. Compete with your grandsons and granddaughters at math and use your mind to uncover all the secrets you can about the new technology available.

Don’t: watch television all day or just stay in a chair thinking about your beautiful past life. Don’t refuse if an old friend asks you to play chess with him and his buddies in the park. You’ll gain more than you think whether you win or loss, your clear mind.

Do: try to eat healthier and light. Use fresh vegetables and fruits in your daily meal, eat fish and avoid other types of meat; eat cereals (germinated) and all kind of nuts. If your teeth don’t permit you to eat nuts, grind them and mix them with your cereals and fruits. Eat lighter in the evening and drink more tea.

Don’t: use every chance you get to eat barbequed meat or fried food. Avoid restaurants and fast-food, especially if you know their food is a caloric bomb. Don’t eat too much fat and animal protein. Avoid excess coffee, smoking, alcohol other than on special occasions. Reduce your vices and prevent illness by having a good, balanced diet.

Do: spend your time with the people you love; try to offer them your wisdom without forcing it on them. Be the most pleasant person you can be, using your people experience for back-up when needed. Be the best friend for your grandchildren and give everyone a reason to want your presence around them. This way you’ll never feel lonely and you’ll never fall into depression like many people after the age of sixty do.

    Sexagenarian can have milk which isvery important to keep their bones stronger. They can attend parties and involve them in playing games such as golf, snookers and more. They must attend debates, spread their life experience with other age groups.
